Community Outreach Sailing
An integral part of Sail Cape Cod’s mission is to provide recreational & therapeutic boating opportunities for those who may not otherwise be able to enjoy on-the-water experiences. Our Community Outreach programs are based on a collaborative effort between Sail Cape Cod and relevant non-profit organizations, area schools, local government, and the business community.
Each sailing session is customized based on the needs of the sailor and any weather constraints. Please email the coordinator to work out the details.
The cost is $150 per two-hour session.
We teach on J22 sailboats. The J22 is a stable yet responsive boat that doesn’t tip over.
While the boat is stable you can still get splashed so dress accordingly.
We provide life jackets.
Depending on the needs and mobility limitation of the individual sailors we will either meet at the Sail Cape Cod shed behind the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, 135 South St, Hyannis or at Gary Brown Boat Ramp located at 147 Lewis Bay Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.
Email coordinator@sailcapecod.org to schedule.
